Overview

Cuzco Peru Travel created this tour in order to show the best of our attractions to the world and the best of our attractions was named as one of the new seven wonders of the modern world MACHUPICCHU Historical Sanctuary covers an area 32,592 hectares and contains some of the most breathtaking scenery on Earth. Uniquely in South America, the Sanctuary was declared both a Cultural and Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983, in recognition of its archaeological and natural wonder.

It is The Machu Picchu´s geographical location, forming the transition zone between the Andes and the Amazon, which makes it unique.

The extraordinary altitudinal range, from 6,271 meters (MT. Salkantay) to 1,725 meters (the Aobamba River), means that Machu Picchu comprises ten distinct life zones, from glaciers and highland pasture to cloud forests and the Amazon Basin. This remarkable range of habitats bring with it incredible biodiversity. Within the sanctuary, over 420 species of birds have been recorded (or 5% of world´s species) and 350 species of orchids have been registered (although it is thought that this figure may represent just of the orchid species within the sanctuary).
Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary for you and the world.

We offer guaranteed daily departures for individuals and groups of all ages. This tour starts and ends at your hotel in Cuzco and the trip is by train.

Day 1:

Early in the morning, enjoy the delicious breakfast in your hotel, then our staff will pick you up and transfer you to the sacred valley OLLANTA train station in order to board the train to Aguas Calientes (the nearest town to the Sacred Incan Citadel of Machu Picchu). Once you arrive at Aguas Calientes, you just need to relax and enjoy because our Professional Tour Guide will be there to welcome you. Then you will go to the bus station where you will be boarding your last connection to Machu Picchu; the bus ride takes around 25 minutes and follows a zigzagging slight slope with nice views. Once in Machu Picchu, the private guided tour around the Sacred Incan Citadel starts and it lasts around 2 hours 30 min. You will explore the highlights of the Sacred Incan Citadel of Machu Picchu; visiting even the famous panoramic view promoted by the national geography society. When the tour finishes, you will have opportunity to climb the famous mountain WAYNAPICCHU where you will appreciate the best and the breathtaking views of Machu Picchu, the Urubamba valley and the mountain range that surrounds this amazing place.

The climb to Wayna Picchu takes about one hour at a moderate pace, right after we return to the town to enjoy our lunch at one of the best restaurant in the town, at the end we will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the hot springs of the town of Aguas Calientes.
